Furbaby Bestie Pet Care was founded by Stephanie Glover in 2022. Volunteering as an animal care specialist in local shelters and rescue organizations allowed her to see the gaps that perpetuated an animal's past trauma into the post-adoption phase of their life. From the moment an animal enters a shelter on to adoption, time is lacking towards the modification of the animal's behavior induced by abandonment. Shelters are under resourced and short-staffed, so they don't have the cycles of time needed to help rehabilitate animals who come in with abandonment issues. Should an animal get the opportunity to be adopted, the pet parents inherit those behavioral inefficiencies. Pet adoptions increased by 50% during the pandemic and the two-year lockdown increased pets’ co-dependency on the consistent presence of their owner. As the pandemic lockdown eases, households have had to return to work in-person leaving a deficit in the human interaction the pet depends on. This conflict oftentimes results in pets being returned to the shelter.
Stephanie noticed that post-pandemic separation anxiety triggered negative behavior patterns in a pet predisposed to abandonment. She conceived Furbaby Bestie Pet Care to provide comprehensive in-home pet sitting services to pet parents throughout the West Los Angeles region. She understands that it takes a village to facilitate the positive health and well-being of humans and pets.

Furbaby Bestie Pet Care’s priority is to support pet parents by providing their pet with informed, tender loving care should the pet parent need to be away to take care of life's other obligations. The goal is to help reduce the number of pets rehomed or returned to animal shelters because of the inability to manage high levels of separation anxiety. Furbaby Bestie Pet Care offers a variety of services to pet parents, including dog walking, pet drop-in visits, private pet daycare, overnight care, and pet transportation.
